Shawn McAteer is vice president, brand management in the Americas for Hilton's Full Service Brand category that includes Hilton Hotels & Resorts; DoubleTree by Hilton; and Curio Collection by Hilton. McAteer is responsible for supporting the global development of these brands, which includes: overseeing the global strategic direction and implementation of the brands' objectives and plans, as well as leading the Americas support organization; growing relationships with owner and management company representatives; and supporting the Full Service Brand category as the brands continue to expand around the world.
McAteer has followed in his father's footsteps to pursue a career in the hotel business. He has been with Hilton Worldwide for more than twenty years, most recently serving as vice president, brand performance support for DoubleTree by Hilton and, before that, the upper upscale Embassy Suites Hotels. In those roles, he had responsibility for each brand's hotel performance support teams in sales and operations and worked with their revenue management teams to ensure hotels were correctly priced and appropriately positioned. Along with these critical functions, McAteer also provided strategic direction to several groups including new product and service development, training, brand sales and distribution and new hotel openings. During his time with DoubleTree by Hilton and Embassy Suites, he helped to grow guest loyalty and market share to some of the highest points in the history of the brands.
Prior to moving into corporate brand management, McAteer worked in both operations and revenue management positions at the property level for Hilton Hotels for more than 10 years. McAteer graduated with a degree in hospitality administration from Florida State University. Outside of the office, McAteer can be found cheering on the Florida State Seminoles, watching football, spending time with his wife and two dogs, golfing and traveling.
