Tree-Mendous Fun at the Regent Street Festival
LONDON - Visitors to the Regent Street Festival on Sunday 26 September 2010 are in for a treat as Doubletree by Hilton and the Woodland Trust invite them to explore their Forest of Food, Fashion & Fun.
Doubletree by Hilton is building a magical forest enclosure, complete with trees, plants, food stalls, a Coconut Catwalk and the spectacular Doubletree by Hilton Family Tree Troupe.
The performing family of five costumed "Tree Characters" will host a series of Fun Forest Fashion Shows for kids and their parents on the Coconut Tree Catwalk every hour, with the first ‘show’ at 12.30 and the final one at 16.30.
Courtesy of Doubletree by Hilton’s partnership with the Woodland Trust, a variety of environmental, education activities will be promoted for kids and their families. The Tree Test Masquerade is an interactive activity where visitors will take a ‘What Kind of Tree Would You Be?’ quiz, developed by the Woodland Trust.
Having answered all the questions to discover their tree identity, children and adults will be presented with a unique souvenir tree mask to wear and model on the coconut catwalk, after a fun foliage makeover with the dressing up attendant. Everybody who models on the coconut catwalk has the opportunity to win Woodland Trust goodies.
Food and beverages will be on sale, including favourites from the Courthouse Doubletree by Hilton London and the legendary Doubletree by Hilton chocolate chip cookies. A percentage of the proceeds will go to the Regent Street Festival’s designated charity, The White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood.
Doubletree by Hilton will also be giving away three special mini-break prizes to any one of the seven Doubletree by Hilton hotels in the UK as part of the festivities.
In its 11th year, the annual Regent Street Festival will take place on Sunday 26 September from 12noon to 7pm. This year’s traffic free event will be dedicated to fashion and lifestyle, and the iconic ‘Mile of Style’ fashion catwalk will feature top models wearing the latest collections from the Regent Street brands.
