ALICE SPRINGS, Australia - DoubleTree by Hilton Alice Springs is celebrating the true meaning of Christmas this season by helping the Alice Spring's Women's Shelter (ASWS) with the Christmas Giving Tree. ASWS has been providing services such as emergency accommodation, outreach support and counseling in the community for more than thirty years. The tree is now located in the lobby of the DoubleTree by Hilton Alice Springs and will remain up through December. The gifts will be delivered to the shelter on Christmas Eve ready to surprise on Christmas Day.
"Our hotel is thrilled that we are able to support the Alice Springs Women's Shelter this Christmas," said Clinton Farley, general manager - DoubleTree by Hilton Alice Springs. "Our brand culture at DoubleTree by Hilton is all about CARE - we aim to Create a Rewarding Experience at all times: with our guests, with our own team members and most especially within the communities we serve. We are fully onboard with this great initiative which will ensure gifts and donations are kept local, supporting women and children experiencing domestic violence this Christmas."
The DoubleTree by Hilton Alice Springs team is committed to community engagement and many team members will be donating to the Christmas Giving Tree campaign project themselves this year.
"The Alice Springs Women's Shelter is delighted to have the support of DoubleTree by Hilton Alice Springs this year, in the form of a Christmas Giving Tree," said Dale Wakefield, ASWS coordinator. "The children and families who are displaced at the Shelter this Christmas will greatly benefit from the generosity of the Alice Springs community."
"I encourage the entire community to get behind the "Giving Tree" initiative from a small gift to a monetary donation which can be hung on the tree," added Farley.
As a token of thanks, for every donation or gift received under the tree this Christmas, DoubleTree by Hilton Alice Springs will issue the giver a voucher for a complimentary item from its Deck Eatery and Bar.
